Replacing the old module on the Renault Megane II window - It's easy!

The problem

Very often, after investigating a problem with a Renault Megane / Scenic 2 or Clio 3 window regulator, it will be found that the door window mechanism is OK, but there is no drive from the motor.

Further checking will usually reveal that the motor itself is OK, and that the fault lies with the 6 pin motor control unit attached to it (also known as the motor module, regulator module or motor controller)
Repairers wishing to replace the whole window motor and module, or just the motor regulator module, will find that the original parts are not available from Renault, or from their agents.
The only solution from these sources is to buy the complete window regulator assembly at a cost of several hundred pounds.

Two simple and inexpensive solutions

We offer you the choice of purchasing either a new "mini cube"™ module from us, or a refurbished original Temic module from our associates, QER Ltd.

Mini Cube™

New to the automotive spares after-market is the "mini cube"™ module from QDI Ltd, which is a simple plug-in replacement for the original Renault 6-pin window motor control unit.

Simply remove the old module and plug the mini cube™ into the loom connector instead.
Just plugging in its two cables to the motor terminals completes the job.
There are no wires to cut or join, and no complicated wiring diagrams to follow.
All very straightforward - but we provide illustrated instructions anyway with every one.

The mini-cube is of a simplified design, with no connection to the body control computer, which on the original is known to occasionally result in unexpected operation of the windows.
One less thing to go wrong!

It is also fully encapsulated in fire-resistant, moisture-proof, epoxy resin to eliminate any possibility of water or moisture affecting operation (as happens in the original).

The simplified design means that it has no "one-touch" operation, so the electric window motors only operate the windows whilst the door window switch is pressed.
For those versions of the Renault Megane/ Scenic 2 model range which feature window roll up on remote locking, this feature is unfortunately lost.

Refurbished original Temic module

If you want to keep all your original "comfort" features, including "one-touch" with anti-pinch, and "total closure" (roll up on remote locking), you can choose to buy a refurbished original Temic module from stock, from our associates, QER Ltd.
Most cabriolet / convertible owners will probably want to keep the "all windows" features, with the automatic window roll-down feature when operating the roof, and we recommend this option.

All modules are carefully inspected and tested for defects, and key components replaced.
The internal pcb is given a thick coating of moisture resistant lacquer, and is functionally tested before and after reassembly.
